OUTREACH AND TRAVEL
- Alison Van Eenennaam presented “GMO Feed and Animal Health: Fact versus Fiction” at three Cattle-men’s meetings in Siskiyou, Tehama and Shasta counties. Animal Biology graduate student Bryan Welly also presented his Master’s thesis work on the sequencing of the causative deltaproteobacterial agent of “Foothill Abortion”
- Pablo Ross presented at Genentech, Inc
- Juan Medrano participated in the conference “Advancing Dairy Cattle Genetics: Genomics and Beyond” held in Phoenix, AZ; conference included dairymen, AI industry, USDA-AIPL, academics and international scientists
- Francine Bradley held a Poultry Health Inspector Refresher Course in Fresno, Judged Poultry Showmanship at the Greater California Society of Poultry Fanciers' Association Show, and Officiated at the Avian Bowl State Qualifier.

- UC Davis team (Cindy Garcia, Esteban Aleman, Steven Elliott, & Miguel Guillen with Caleb Sehnert, Meat Lab Manager serving as Advisor) participated in California Association of Meat Processors (CAMP) Cured and Processed Meats Championships at Chico State University. Cindy Garcia received Grand Champion (4th consecutive award for Garcia) & Steven Elliott received Champion; the team also won the Norm Eggen Championship Cup for the second year in a row. This is the 6th consecutive year that UCD has had the Grand Champion entry. In the Open Division, Caleb Sehnert won Reserve Grand Champion
