Faculty Advisers

Faculty advisers provide in-depth information on particular areas of study and serve as a contact point between the student and the faculty.  They assist students in selecting a specialization and have full authority regarding courses taken to fulfill the student's specialization.  In addition, they are responsible for completing degree checks for graduating students and determining degree certification for the major.

Faculty advisers also discuss research possibilities for students with other faculty, career opportunities, and in general, act as a mentor for the student.

Students are assigned to faculty advisers based on their specialization, interests, and the current workload of the faculty adviser.  The selection of faculty advisers is done by the Master Adviser, the Academic Program Adviser and the Advising Associate.
